I love going to Chris's parents' cottage. This year, we were able to spend a week on the lake, swimming, fishing, boating, and playing games. Our first night there got off to a bit of a sketchy start when a thunder storm hit and took out the power for about 8 hours. Because the cottage water is on a pump system, no power also meant no water. Good thing we're used to camping with many fewer amenities!

Fortunately, the remainder of the time ended up being quite a bit sunnier. Chris was able to catch a few fish, while I spent a lot of time reading.

We also enjoyed the hummingbirds that were able to take advantage of the same lake views as we were while eating our dinners.
